How the Entotherm Heat Pod system works
Rentokil uses a fully portable system - the flexi heat pod - to deliver dry transferable heat to a contained area.
The Entotherm Heat pod works by heating up the space, and the infested objects that are placed within it, to 56°C - 60°C for a specified length of time. At this temperature all insect life stages - eggs and larvae to adults - will die within one treatment. At 56°C the protein within the bodies of pest species such bed bugs and cockroaches is denatured, and the waxy layers on the outside of the insect are disrupted, causing dehydration and death.
The treatment is also suitable for use against wood boring insects, moulds and pathogens.
